The United Way of Lamar County will hold its 3rd Annual Food Truck Wars this Friday, November 1st from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. at the corner of Lamar Avenue and Collegiate Drive.

Two-time United Way Food Truck of the Year winner Burgerland will be returning to the event.  Other food trucks participating this year includes Gallaghan’s Wicked Kitchen, the Golden Oinker, the Chocolate Kettle, Taco City and Country Belle Pies.

Hole in the Wall could not send their food truck this year, but will be donating a part of that day’s proceeds at their restaurant to the United Way of Lamar County.

Executive Director of the United Way Jenny Wilson said, “we hope everyone can stop by at some point in the day and grab food from one of our awesome local food trucks.  It’s always a fun event, with amazing food, and we greatly appreciate all the food trucks that participate and donate a part of the day’s proceeds to the United Way of Lamar County.”

The annual Food Truck Wars is part of the United Way of Lamar County’s Fall Campaign to raise $500,000 to fund 25 local nonprofit partner agencies. Wilson reported that over 80% of that goal has been raised so far in the Campaign.
