This evening, People Against Violent Crimes are hosting its 18th Annual Tree of Angels virtually.
“While we are not able to physically gather to adorn the Christmas tree with our special ‘Angels’ this year, victims are not forgotten during this pandemic,” the organization said. “Families and friends of a victim and survivors of a violent crime are invited to join us online as we come together virtually to remember families whose lives have been touched by violent crime.”
The virtual adornment will begin at 6 p.m. on Facebook here, visit the organization’s website at treeofangels.org or peopleagainstviolentcrime.org.
Lamar County’s tree will be placed at the Lamar County Courthouse, should anyone wish to view and/or place an “Angel” on the tree.
“We also respectfully acknowledge the governor’s proclamation designation Dec. 1 to 7, 2020 as Tree of Angels week throughout the state of Texas,” the organization said.
Those unable to join the feed this evening can watch the ceremony online at a later time. For more information, call, text or leave a message at 903-491-1322.
