Families are without a home after a fire broke out in an apartment complex late Saturday evening.
At about 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, Paris Fire Department was dispatched to 2180 E. Cherry Street. Once on scene, fire crews reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the Eastern-most apartment.
Engine 1’s crew entered the “heavily involved unit,” and, once arrived on scene, Quint 4 established a water supply. According to reports, Engine 3’s crew arrived on scene and entered the second, partially-involved unit to help suppress the flames.
Atmos and Oncor were called to cut off the electricity and gas to the units, and the American Red Cross was called to assist displaced residents.
No injuries were reported during the Saturday fire, and the cause was undetermined after the initial investigation.
