As word spread Wednesday morning that North Carolina pastor and counselor to a dozen U.S. presidents, Billy Graham, passed away, tributes from world leaders, celebrities and all those who followed him flooded in.

Graham preached to an estimated 215 million people in 185 countries around the world and also wrote more than two dozen books, including “Just as I Am,” his 1977 memoir which was a New York Times best-seller.

On Thursday, House Speaker Paul Ryan announced Graham will lie in honor at the U.S. Capitol Rotunda from February 28th to March 1st.

An honor, only four private citizens have had.

Local pastors in Paris, Texas shared their thoughts on the passing of Graham and the impact he had on the world during his 99 years on earth.

“When I think of Dr. Billy Graham, I think of a powerful preacher, who achieved supernatural results but guarded his reputation and ego so that God received the glory,” – Pastor Barnes of Breakthrough Church

“Billy Graham was one of the most influential ministers of the gospel of our time. It is said that millions came to know Christ through his ministry. He kept the main thing the main thing, which is the gospel of Jesus Christ, and that it must have preeminence in each born-again believers life.” – Pastor Donnie Edwards of East Paris Baptist Church

“I have one message: that Jesus Christ came, he died on a cross, he rose again, and he asked us to repent of our sins and receive him by faith as Lord and Savior, and if we do, we have forgiveness of all of our sins.” —Billy Graham

“Billy Graham once said that ‘The will of God will not take us where the grace of God cannot sustain us’. He purposed to live his life in a manner that shared the love and grace of God to everyone he came in contact with regardless of race, nationality, language or religion (or even your party affiliation). He didn’t just know what “the Bible says,” he lived, with passion and conviction what, “the Bible says.” He will forever be remembered as an inspiration to follow and one of our worlds great influencers,” – Pastor Cory Jones of CF Paris.
