William Clay Johnson, 61 of Clarksville, passed away Monday, May 6, 2019 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.

Funeral services have been set for Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home in Paris, Texas with Rev. Randall Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Clarksville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

He was born in Clarksville, Texas on May 13, 1957 to Leonard and Alma Duren Johnson. He was an avid outdoorsman, especially hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Simmons, Monica Malone and husband Mark; his grandchildren, whom he loved so dearly, Lauren Martin, Dylan Safi, Jonathan Martin, Morgan Bridgers, Julie Martin, Matthew Martin, Madisen Simmons, Ian and Isabel Simmons; parents, Leonard and Alma Johnson; brothers, Tony Johnson and wife Vickie, Tim Johnson, twin brother, Joe Dale Johnson and wife Savkort; mother-in-law, Carolyn Chance; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Carol Johnson, son-in-law, Shawn Simmons.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Dylan Safi, Jonathan Martin, Matthew Martin; his nephews, Zach Johnson, Duren Johnson, Joshua Johnson and his lifelong friend, David Skidmore.
