The Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks and Judge Judy lost their most devoted fan on Friday, September 6, 2024, when Wesley Lewis “Wes” McKee left this earth and took his heavenly flight, to join with family and friends that departed before him.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9 th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Wade White, Rev. Justin Thompson, Preston Williamson, Carrie Bethea, and Rachell Holmes officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Wes, the son of Wade William McKee and Flora Marie Brode McKee, was born Nov. 21, 1934, in Allens Point, TX.
On April 1, 1956, Wes joined the Army National Guard and was a Medic in the 117 th ARMD MED BN. He was honorably discharged on March 31, 1959. His career with Paris Lumber Company spanned 31 years before his retirement. At the time of his retirement he was Vice President of Purchasing.
When Wes departed this earthly life, he left behind his wife, Margie Watson McKee, whom he dearly loved and was devoted to, his children, Robert Wesley McKee (Julie), Sherrie Williamson (Preston), Michael Womack (Amy), Carrie Bethea (Earl), Ashley Holmes (Brent Toland), and daughter-in-law, Donna Womack O’Toole (Steve). Grandchildren, Craig McKee (Kelli), Katie McKee, Brantley Blackburn (Jami), Leslie Williamson (Luis Menendez), Tracy McNown (Mike), Zach Williamson, Mitch Williamson (Holly), Larry Carl “Bubba” Womack, Jr. (Rachelle), John Womack, Lauria Womack Dowdy (Gavin), KayCie Bethea Dyck (Conrad), Kelleigh and Rachell Holmes, Makinzley and Taytum Poor. Great grandchildren, Ava and Alice McKee, Barrett Blackburn, Taylor and Brandon Scalf, Sara Shagagi (Matt Reiss), Michael, Dylan and Rachel McNown, Daron, Kaleb, Tela, Corbin, and Kohl Williamson, Emma Jo Lynn Dowdy and Mason, Lucy and Owen Earl Dyck, Trinity, Faith, and Austin Williamson. Great great grandchildren, Jaidyn Jones, Moses Anderson, and Dorian Matthew Reiss expected to arrive in November 2024. Nieces, Phyllis Marchessault (Ron) and Susan Miller (J.B.) and nephew, Stephen Andrew (Janie), sister-in-law, Pat Martin, brothers-in-law, Joseph Watson (Amy) and Richard Watson (Susan). Several great nieces & great nephews, extended family members, friends and business acquaintances.
He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, Billie McKee, sister, Dorothy Andrew (Phil), nephew, David Andrew, daughter, Rebecca Blackburn, son, Larry Womack and the mother of his children, Louise Shields Anderson.
Casket bearers will be: Rachell Holmes, Tony Watkins, Preston Williamson, Steve Jackson, Duane Roebuck, Bobby Smallwood, Ricky Bestul, Stevie Finney, and Reggie McDowra.
The family would like to invite everyone to wear their favorite Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, or Dallas Mavericks shirts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Paris Public Library.
