Wayne Templeton, 83, of Paris, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018, at his home while surrounded by his family.

Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22nd, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Sanders, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Wayne, the son of Mitchell & Pauline McFadden Templeton, was born June 18, 1934, in Biardstown. He attended school and graduated from Delmar Schools.

He married his high school sweetheart, Emilie Adams, in Paris on May 29, 1954, building almost sixty-four years of family and memories.

His first job was at J. C. Penny, then to Campbell Soup where his career spanned thirty-two years before his retirement. After retirement, he enjoyed more time for his farm, garden, and cows. His greatest pleasure was time spent with family, especially the grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Wayne enjoyed doing his “train whistle” at Bluegrass and other singings. He was active in church as long as health allowed. A member of Friendship Baptist Church, he had served as Deacon at local Baptist Churches and was a longtime Sunday school teacher.

Wayne was a devoted husband, daddy, granddaddy and great granddaddy.

Survivors include his wife, Emilie, two children; son, Gary Templeton & wife Leslie and daughter, Tammy Templeton, six grandchildren; Jennifer Jackson & husband Danny, Stephanie Ellis, Aaron Mitchell Barnes & wife Savanha, Trish Reed & husband Bob, Heather Templeton & Marko Latson, and Courtney Ray, eleven great grandchildren; KeShauwn Ellis, Alexis Jackson, Antonio and Tyler, Emalee and Dixie, Riley Mitchell and Alivia Barnes, Tamarrie Bell, Solomon and Kelsey, a brother, Luther Templeton & wife Peggy, a sister, Margie Massey & husband C. L. along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Jeremy, in-laws, L. D. & Lottie Adams, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law; Ray & Dale Adams, Rex Adams and Robert & Yvonne Powers.

Casket bearers will be Aaron Mitchell Barnes, KeShauwn Ellis, Bob Reed, Gary Morton, Freddy Cook & Ted Sugg.
