Virginia Douglas, 87 of Powderly, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023.
A graveside service has been set for Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Long Cemetery with David Ballard officiating. No formal visitation has been set.
Virginia was born in McComb, Illinois to Raymond and Irene Switzer. She married Robert “R.L.” Douglas on January 11, 1957. She retired from Sears Roebuck after many years of service. Virginia was a member of Powderly Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, R.L. Douglas; brother, Galen Switzer; step-sister, Lila; sister-in-law, Rosella “Polly” Morris and husband T.J.; brother-in-law, Joe Douglas and wife Shirley; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Irene Doney Switzer; sister, Dela Schwartz; brother, Don Switzer.
