Troy Lee Drake, 76 of Paris, went home to be with his Lord at 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 8, 2024, surrounded by his family. We gathered around him and worshipped the one he finally met face to face. We sang his favorite songs until Jesus called him home. 2 Corinthians 5:8, “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Funeral services have been set for Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Pathway Church of God with Rev. Daniel Hines officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM
Troy was born in Dallas, Texas on August 13, 1948 to Donnie Deroy and Opal Faye Drake. Troy preached his first sermon at the age of 15 and went into full time ministery at the age of 19. He was the perfect example of how a Christian should live and love. Troy was a member of New Life Worship Center International. He loved cars, fixing things, carpentry, but most of all sharing the love of Jesus with others.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Tonya Tidwell Drake; children, Patrick Drake and wife Carolyn, Jonathan Drake and wife Britney; grandchildren, Trinity Miller and husband Caleb, Benjamin Drake and wife Morgan, Jacob Drake and fiance’ Lexi Rushing, Cade Drake and wife Gracie; Jayden Drake and Trevor Kemp, Jasper Drake, Katelyn Kinslow and husband Kyle, Montana Parson and wife Rebecca; great-grandchildren, Isla Drake, Kylyn Kinslow, Kasleigh Kinslow, Kade Parson, Callan Drake; mother-in-law, Billie Tidwell; sister-in-law, Virginia Drake; a host of nieces and nephews; best friends from high school, Van Estes and Lyndell McFaddin; and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roy Drake.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Jacob Drake, Benjamin Drake, Cade Drake, Jasper Drake, Montana Parson, Kyle Kinslow, Caleb Miller, Trevor Kemp, Stacey Ladell, and Jonathan Dickey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Danny Webster, Ronnie Seat, Denny Huggins, Steve Catt, Dickie Basinger, Donnie Drake, and Darren Fishback.
