“Orange juice on cereal. Some call it weird. Some call it breakfast. We . . . didn’t even know it was a thing.”
Apparently eating your cereal with orange juice is more common than you might think as Tropicana announces the launch of its new Tropicana Crunch: the first cereal made for orange juice.
Tropicana Crunch is a granola-based cereal that is “down to be drowned in OJ,” with a mix of honey almond clusters.
“The taste attribute of the honey almond flavor helps balance the tartness of orange juice, making it a great palette pairing,” a spokesperson said.
According to FOX TV stations, the inspiration for the granola-based cereal was so it would not get soggy quickly as orange juice is particularly acidic and regular cereal flakes would dissolve too quickly.
The company also tried pairing different flavors such as fruity or berry flavors, then even tried cinnamon and sugar-flavored cereals, but none were as pleasing to the palette as the honey almond flavor.
“Whether you hate it or love it, you won’t know until you try it. Tropicana Crunch – It may not be for everyone (but it could be for you!).”
The new cereal will be available for purchase beginning May 4 while supplies last.
