Operating solely on local donations and foundations, Horizon House is hosting its $10 drive throughout the month of February.
“If 100 people give just $10, we’ll reach our goal of $1000, and I have no doubt our community can pull it off,” Shelly Braziel, LCHRC Executive Director, said. “Horizon House operates solely on local donations and foundations, which means support from the community is crucial in ensuring we’re able to continue to house and assist those in need.”
Braziel said the $10 Drive is the most inexpensive way the community can help support the shelter.
“Horizon House, a transitional shelter in Paris, provides safe, temporary housing to men, women, and families with children,” Braziel said. “Our residents are also provided with classes and support services that address the root causes of homelessness, like drug and alcohol programming, life skills classes, and setting healthy boundaries to name a few.”
For just $10, Braziel said, donors help the shelter’s continued efforts in providing safe housing, alongside its in-house programs.
