Thomas Clyde “Tommy” Pressley, 83, of Milton, passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2024, at his home.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19th at the Pavilion of Restland Cemetery in Cunningham with Rev. Frankie Norwood officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 – 6 p.m.
Tommy, the son of Clyde Pressley & Leona Daniels Pressley, was born Nov. 14, 1940, in Henrietta, TX.
He was a cattleman and worked on a number of ranches in Oldham County, TX. In 1973, he and his wife, Evelyn, moved to Cunningham where he worked for the Pritchard Ranch many years. In 1997, he began working for Lamar County Precinct #1 where he remained until his retirement in 2011.
Tommy and Evelyn were honorary members of the Prairiland FFA. He had been active with the Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department where at one time he served as chief.
Tommy was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, on March 20, 2020, following 54 years of marriage, a son, James Allen Pressley, his parents, Clyde & Leona, and a sister, Joann Pressley Robinson (Cary).
Survivors include two daughters, Dona Winkler (Richard) and Deann Pressley, a grandson, Jeremiah Winkler, and two sisters, Margaret Pressley Knox (Donnie) and Sue Pressley Gilbert (Earl) along with a number of nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
Honorary casket bearers will be: Lynn Golden, Vance Golden, Lane Golden, Tommy Bove, Jake Bove, & Chad Davidson.
