Thelma Nell Posey, 74, of Tyler, formerly of Paris, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019, at her home.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 4:00 p.m. Monday, April 29th, at Springhill Cemetery with Benji Hall officiating.

Thelma, the daughter of Jesse Monroe & Minnie Myrtle Hayes Whitaker, was born Nov. 12, 1944, in Red River County.

Her career at Earthgrains spanned many years before her retirement.

Thelma was known as Nanny to all. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth Posey, and a great grandson, Gideon Hall.

Survivors include three children; Sherry Allen & husband Terry of Paris, Cynthia Chappell & husband Jeff of Tyler, and Kenneth J. “Bud” Posey & wife Melanie of Powderly, grandchildren; Benji Hall & wife Kayla, Matt Allen, Daniel Allen & wife Brittany, Jessica Gould & husband Ryan, Mandie Posey, Buddy Posey, Josh Stevens & husband Brian and multiple adopted with love grandchildren, a great grandson, Phoenix Hall, a brother, Bobby Don Whitaker & wife Joy and a sister, Lois Staley & husband Bob along several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Prakash and all the nurses & staff at Texas Oncology for the care given their loved one. And special thanks to her neighbor, Dr. James O’Brien & his family for their attention to her, and Jerry Allen for his support & help.
