Theda Garrison Owens, 93, passed peacefully to her final resting place surrounded by her family on September 8, 2023.
Theda was born on November 23, 1929, to Vollie and Allie Favors Garrison in Paris, Texas. She attended Central High School in Sumner, Texas. She married James E. Owens, and they were members of Oak Park United Methodist Church. Theda graduated from the LVN School of Nursing at St. Joseph’s Hospital in 1970. She retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital in 1984. She also worked at Cherry Street Manor as charge nurse.
Survivors include her husband, James Owens, children, Sandra Taack of Paris, Rick Johnson & wife Debbie of Paris, Susan Tolleson of Paris, and Sharon Ramsey & husband Dan of Post Oak, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and a sister, Vella Risinger & husband Billy along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Dwayne Garrison, Bobby Garrison, and Jerry Garrison, and two sisters, Jurene Armstrong and Linda Whitaker.
Services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Judd Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
