A new independent film, The Short Game featuring Glenn Morshower from The West Wing, X-Man, and Friday Night Lights, will be filmed in Sherman, Texas, and producers are looking for volunteers for extras and assisting the crew with production.
An informal presentation will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 6 p.m. in Kidd Key Auditorium, 400 N Elm Street, Sherman). The meeting should last roughly an hour.
Morshower, one of the lead actors in the film, will be at the presentation.
The Short Game is about Jeremy Avery, who is vying for a college golf scholarship, but his preparation and game are affected by family pressures related to his younger autistic brother, Ethan.
Jeremy’s path leads him on a journey of discovery and acceptance of family, friends, friendship, faith, and his brother, whose savant-like gifts can create an unstoppable pair on and off the golf course.
The movie will be directed by Sherman resident, Frank Sanza.
On choosing to shoot locally, Sanza says, ‘The Short Game is set in Sherman and highlights our amazing community and the people who have already shown us unbelievable support. Such an undertaking would not be possible without the generosity of so many in the Texoma area.'”
Sanza also shares said the film will be produced by LA-based producer, David Parks, who brings incalculable expertise to our film not only through his own experience, but through the crew he has brought in to work on the film.
“We are fortunate to have major Hollywood players heading up key departments.'”
