The Rock Behind the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce Grows

The Lamar County Chamber of Commerce has seen one area of significant growth over the last few months.

This major growth is being seen throughout Lamar County with its Ambassador group which has grown from 27 to 60 in only a year.

“The Ambassadors represent the Chamber in so many areas,” said president Paul Allen. “They not only support new business at Ribbon Cuttings, use Social Media, but they are the welcoming committee to new members.”

Positive business relationships, as well as friendships, have grown within the Ambassador group.

“There is excitement within the group and it shows when they get together for all the events.”

Not only are ambassadors representing the Chamber, but they are representing their own business or place of employment that are Chamber members.

“There is such a wide variety of businesses represented with this group as well,” said Allen.

Chair of the Ambassador, Casi Burchinal said the ambassador program is an example of referral marketing at its best.

“We serve as member liaisons to provide outreach and support to the business community,” said Burchinal. “The ambassadors volunteer above and beyond by helping to welcome new businesses into the chamber.”

Burchinal explained that ambassadors attend ribbon cuttings, invite people to chamber networking opportunities and assist in community events.

“The ambassadors are the face of the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce and we take pride in representing our community.”

Allen can’t say enough good this about the ambassadors.

“These people volunteer their time to make a difference in our community and to our new members, and I see it happening every time we do something. There is value being an Ambassador on multiple levels. They provide such a positive atmosphere at our Chamber events.”

There is no set limit on Ambassadors, which some Chambers have.

“If we have Chambers members that want to reach out to others and support what we do, why would you limit it.”
