Two children were taken to the hospital earlier this morning, and are being treated for burns and smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in the 340 Grove St. home.
Within four minutes of the page at about 4 a.m., Paris Fire Department arrived on scene of the heavily-involved structure fire.
According to PFD Assistant Chief Thomas McMonigle, the two children were able to get out of the house quickly and on their own. Paris EMS transported the two to the hospital facing burns and smoke inhalation. Their condition is unknown.
McMonigle said firefighters on scene were able to “knock the fire out quick,” and within an hour. However, the home was considered a loss. He said the fire was heavily involved and the home suffered heavy damage.
The cause of the fire was unknown, however preliminary reports indicate it was possibly caused by faulty electrical. Firefighters were on scene for just more than two hours.
