Susan Renee (Cady) Shumaker, age 53, went to see her Lord and Savior on July 7th , 2025, after fighting a 4 year long hard battle with ovarian cancer. Susan was born in San Antonio, Texas on December 9th , 1971, to David and Doris Ann Cady. She grew up in Paris and San Antonio, Texas. Susan married her childhood friend and the love of her life Steven Shumaker on May 1st , 2014. Together Susan and Steven owned and operated 24/7 Refrigeration Heat and Air in Paris, TX.
Susan was a devout Christian and instilled those values in her family. Even through her sickness and hardest times she still praised the Lord for her life. Susan enjoyed motorcycle rides with her husband, Steven. She also enjoyed gardening around the house and sitting on the back porch listening and watching the birds. Most of all she enjoyed and loved all 18 of her grandchildren. She was passionate about teaching them the principles of Christianity and loving Christ and being a good person.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents David and Doris Ann Cady.
She is survived by her husband Steven Shumaker of the home in Paris, Texas; her daughters Misty Hall and husband Chance of Atoka, OK, Jessica Carney and husband James of Seminole, OK, Heather Shumaker of Paris, TX; her sons Guy Scamp and wife Danielle of Atoka, OK, Wesley Shumaker and wife Sydney of Smithville, OK; 18 grandchildren – Olivia, Samuel, and Liam Hall; Benjamin Hatcher, Julian Carney, Grace Davis; Joselyn, Carina, Caelum, and Ronan Scamp; Vennessa, Rhea, Lyllah, Kharma Shumaker and Kodeigh Booker; Swayze Cribb, Lux and Murphy Shumaker.
Susan is also survived by her brothers Floyd (Albert) Krahn and wife Beverly of Sulphur Springs, TX, David Cady and wife Becky of Sulphur Springs, TX, Gary Cady and wife Christina of Paris, TX, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 11th at Chisum Trails Cowboy Church with Dr. James McLeod officiating. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5 – 7 p.m.
