AMBER ALERT CANCELED: While there are many reports about why the alert was canceled, Dallas Police issued a statement earlier this morning stating:
“Many media outlets are reporting that a body has been found in the Child Abduction investigation involving Cedrick Jackson. However, the Dallas Police Department has not located a body relating to this investigation.”
A press conference is scheduled for later today. We will share those official details once released.
The Dallas Police Department are searching for 18-month-old Cedric Jackson who was possibly abducted from the Lake Highlands area.
A regional Amber Alert was originally issued, however, it was upgraded to a statewide Amber Alert late Wednesday night.
Jackson was last seen overnight around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in an apartment in the 9700 block of Whitehurst Drive.
The FBI has been asked to assist police in their investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Dallas Police Department Missing Persons Unit at 214-671-4268.
