After a concerned citizen call, the Red River County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Spectrum employees are working in the Bogata area.
Last week, deputies received information that in the area of the 500 block of Hwy 271 S in Bogata, there was a report of a man that was claiming to work for Spetrum Internet and going door-to-door asking for personal information.
“The complainant stated that she contacted Spectrum and they advised that they currently don’t have anyone out servicing that area,” said the RRCSO.
At that time, the sheriff’s office warned citizens to not give out personal information to anyone and they had a deputy in-route to try locate the individual.
On Thursday evening, the sheriff’s office confirmed that deputies were able to verify that Spectrum employees were making contact with citizens in the Bogata area.
“We still want our citizens to use caution when approached by individuals claiming to be with any company. We don’t want anyone to become a victim of a scam and it’s becoming all too common these days. Thank you to the deputy that was able to make contact and verify this individuals employment. “
