Robert Shelton Briscoe, 83, of Detroit, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, at his home.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23rd at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Keithan Brown officiating. Rodney Briscoe will serve as eulogist. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Briscoe, the son of Jack Briscoe and Mary Catherine Carroll Briscoe, was born Feb. 23, 1941, in Cooper, TX.
He graduated from East Lamar High School and began a career in trucking. Later, he went to work at B & W, where he remained until retirement. Robert enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and dirt track racing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three wives, Annette Anderson Briscoe, Martha Thomas Briscoe, and Marizola Merritt Briscoe, a son-in-law, Johnny Meredith, and five siblings, Dorothy Lou Briscoe, James Briscoe, Jolene Stellpflug, Billy Jack Briscoe, and Scott Briscoe.
Survivors include children, Robbin Yvette Hamilton and husband Shawn, Robert Rodney Briscoe and wife Shauna, Connie Meredith, Lisa Merritt Follmar and husband Ricky, Jackie Wayne, Barbara, Marilyn, and Roy, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.
Honorary casket bearers will be: Chuck James, Doug Briscoe, Cam Briscoe, Jerrod Bankhead, Walker Briscoe, Jeff Hamner and Dakota Knight.
