Robert Lee Morris, passed away peacefully at his home in the Midway community, Detroit, TX Saturday, May 11, 2019.

Funeral services have been set for Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Blossom Church of Christ with Evan Butler and James Oldfield officiating. Interment will follow at Detroit Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:0 P.M. at Blossom Church of Christ.

He was born March 18, 1932 to William and Alma James Coleman in Dallas, TX. He was adopted by Arthur and Lena Howell Morris of Detroit in 1936.

He attended Detroit Schools and was a machanist for Alamo and Haliburton from where he retired. In 2000 he married Venita Jo Gibbs Oldfield. He was a member of the Blossom Church of Christ and an active member of the Midway Community where he and Venita Jo lived. He was an active member of the Detroit Lions Club and a member of the Red River Genealogical Society.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 43 years, Lucille Willis; and son, Tom Willis.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years; Venita Jo; his children, Don Morris, Debbie and John Alvarado, Lisa and James Floyd, Jana and Brian Tinsley, Jo Marie and David Feike, and James and Johna Oldfield; his grandchildren: Amy and Billy Corcoran, Michael Morris, Lisa Willis, Clayton Willis, John Michael and Heather Alvarado, Chris and Chelsea Alvarado, Andrew Alvarado, Lauren and Jacob Nelson, Austin and Sarah Floyd, Paul and Diana Tinsley, Mark Tinsley, Ben Tinsley, Daniel Feike, Kimberly and Nathan Moore, Jayla Oldfield, and Jenay Oldfield; his great-grandchildren; Joshua Morris, Jordan Morris, Jocelyn Corcoran, Nathan Morris, Henry Alvarado, Lucy Alvarado, Connor Alvarado, Keria Nelson, Cora Nelson, Kinley Moore and Nathaniel Moore; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Memorials can be made to the Detroit City Alma Flippo Memorial Library, Midway Community, The Truth In Love TV Program, and In Search of the Lord’s Way TV Program.
