Rev. Tim Roland Young, 81, peacefully entered the arms of his Savior on September 17, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.

Timwas born on April 18, 1942 in Poolville, Texas.  He gave his life to God at the age of 16 and was called into ministry at18. He married the love of his life, Mildred Dollins, in 1961. They served in ministry together for 52 years and pastored 7 churches. Tim retired from ministry only after the effects of Parkinson’s Disease no longer allowed him to continue. He also owned and operated Young’s Lumber Mill.

Tim had a contagious smile and loved to laugh.  His love of God and people was evident in all the lives he touched.  He especially loved babies and children, and he always had a packet of Juicy Fruit to share.His words “I love you a whole pile of sky” will always be cherished by his family.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Leola (Owen) Young, his brothers Wilburn, Lester, Carl, and Johnny Young, and sister Loretta McIntosh. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mildred, and their four children, Larry and Staci Young, Jerry Young, Melanie and Alan Simpson, Chelli and P.G. Morrison, and daughter-in-law Connie Young; six grandchildren, Autumn and Trevor Upchurch, Lyle and Jill Young, Ashley and Josh Measles, Joshua and Betty Simpson, Lexi Morrison and Landry Morrison; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

As a final act of love, Tim donated his body to medical research to contribute to the efforts of finding a cure for Parkinson’s. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to nurses, Shawna, Diana, Bailee, and Britney, for their support and care.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Lifeline Worship Center in Reno at 2:30 PM, with a visitation time preceding the service from 1:30-2:15 PM. Flowers and condolences can be sent through Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.
