Several varieties of buns sold at national grocery retailers nationwide are being voluntarily recalled.

The hamburger and hot dog buns baked by Flowers Foods, Inc., and include popular brands like Wonder and Great Value, have been voluntarily recalled due to the potential for small pieces of hard plastic being found in the bread.

“The company initiated the recall following the discovery of small pieces of hard plastic in production equipment. No related injuries or illnesses have been reported,” says the recall.

Some of the products were sold under the brand names of 7-Eleven, Great Value, Food Depot, Market Pantry, Natural Grain, Nature’s Own, Publix and Wonder.
