Paris Police Department warns area residents of a new scam surfacing where fraudulent companies say customers can place ads on their vehicles, and they will pay them.
“Please be careful commenting on advertisements,” Paris Police Department shared on social media. “If it looks too good to be true, then it probably is. Don’t fall for the easy grab money.”
The police department said companies will say they will pay customers to place an advertisement on their vehicle, then send a fraudulent check. When the customer attempts to cash the check, the money will then be taken out of their account, “and you will be out that amount of money.”
