Paris Police located a vehicle blocking the roadway in the 1100 block of Sycamore St at 7:16 A.M. on November 23, 2020. The vehicle had it emergency lights flashing. When the officers made contact with the occupants, they could smell the odor of marijuana emitting from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The driver was identified as Mark LaKeith McAllister, 33, of Cooper. A search of the vehicle revealed a firearm hidden under the seat. McAllister was found to have a previous felony conviction and was arrested and charged with possession of the firearm by a felon. Officers also located methamphetamine and marijuana inside the vehicle. McAllister was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to 69 calls for service and arrested 2 persons on November 23, 2020.
