On Jan. 31, Paris Police Officers responded to the 3800 block of Lamar Ave. in regards to a forgery. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Bruce Kennedy who was in possession of and had attempted to pass counterfeit money. Kennedy was placed under arrest for forgery and taken to jail.

Also on Jan. 31, Paris Police Officers responded to the 200 block of SE 13th in regards to an assault. The victim advised her neighbor had physically assaulted her and threatened her with a knife in the complex parking lot. Officers arrested Mary Lewis for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The knife was taken as evidence. Lewis was taken to jail.

Later on Jan. 31, Paris Police located a vehicle in the 700 block of SW 13th with the driver asleep behind the wheel. The driver was identified as Wesley Watkins. Watkins was found to be intoxicated. Watkins was also found to be in possession of meth. Watkins was placed under arrest and taken to jail.

On Saturday, Feb. 1, Paris Police made a traffic stop in the 4700 block of Lamar. The officer made contact with a passenger in the vehicle, Jeremiah Rater. Rater was found to be in possession of a drug test falsification device. Rater was found to have tampered with evidence by ingesting some illegal narcotics he had in his possession to avoid the officer from finding them. Rater was placed under arrest and taken to jail.

Also on Feb. 1, Paris Police made a traffic stop in the 200 block of Bonham Street. The officer made contact with Nancy Unger who was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Unger was placed under arrest and taken to jail.

Paris Police responded to 356 calls for service and arrested 19 persons over the weekend period.
