Paris police officers were alerted to a stolen vehicle just after 5 a.m., on Mar. 30. Officers met with the victim who advised that a vehicle was stolen from the 1400 block of Clarksville St. The owner believed at the time that two females had stolen the vehicle during the night. Then on Apr. 14, reports came in that the vehicle was reportedly travelling west on Interstate 30 in Hunt County. At 10:55 a.m., the vehicle was reported to be then travelling east on Interstate 30 towards Paris. Officers were able to intercept the vehicle as it entered back into the city limits of Paris. Paris Police arrested two people from the vehicle, one was 33-year old Courtney Leigh Squires, of Paris. She was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The other arrested person was found to have traffic warrants and was not charged with the theft of the automobile. Squires was taken into custody and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to 50 calls for service and arrested two persons on April 14, 2020.
