During a traffic stop for equipment violation on a vehicle, Bogata police discovered a 5-year old child who was the subject of a child safety alert, along with meth and drug paraphernalia.
Around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Officer Hutchings conducted the traffic stop and following investigation, found a child in the vehicle was the subject of a recent child safety alert.
A search of the vehicle was also performed and produced meth and drug paraphernalia.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, endangering a child, and multiple traffic related offense.
The child was released to the custody of Child Protective Services a short time later.
No names have been released at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
