An investigation is underway after an officer found a three-year old child alone on the sidewalk in the 300 block of East Price Street during routine patrol.
According to the report, the child was found shortly before 5 p.m. on Thursday, barefoot and wearing a short sleeved shirt.
The officer took custody of the child and began trying to locate a family member.
Eventually, a family member was located who had left the child with another adult, who had left the child alone and left the area.
Child Protective Services were contacted and the child was placed with another family member until further investigation could be conducted.
