Phillip Ray Huggins, 76, of Paris, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Stillhouse Health Care & Rehabilitation Center.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3rd at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Dickey officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in McDonald Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6 – 7 p.m.
Phillip, the son of Edward Ray Huggins & Betty Pearl King Huggins, was born May 24, 1948, in Paris, TX.
He attended Rosa Pearson Elementary School and Paris High School and graduated from Texas High in Texarkana. Phillip then joined the United States Marine Corp where he proudly served four years during the Vietnam War.
His career as a carpenter spanned a number of years. He was a member of the VFW.
His grandparents, parents, a brother-in-law, Gary Sanders, and several aunts & uncles preceded him in death.
Survivors include a sister, Rebecca Sanders, a brother, Bobby Huggins (Beverly), nieces & nephews, Eddie Sanders, Joe Sanders (Janet), John Sanders (Cheryl), Ben Huggins (Andrea), and Zack Huggins, great nieces & great nephews, Joseph Sanders, Jacie Sanders, Jonathan Sanders, Cameron Fields, and Kyleigh Fields and many extended family members along with a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Jeff Gordon, Charlie Gordon, Jim King, Mickey Huggins, Joseph Sanders, and Jonathan Sanders. Honorary bearers will be: Gary Huggins, Larry Dean King, Ben Huggins, and Zack Huggins.
