The Paris Community Theatre is conducting open audition this evening for ‘Shakespeare In Love’ at the 1st Street Studios in downtown Paris.
Young Will Shakespeare has writer’s block…the deadline for his new play is fast approaching but he’s in desperate need of inspiration. That is until he finds his muse – Viola. This beautiful young woman is Will’s greatest admirer and will stop at nothing (including breaking the law) to appear in his next play.
Against a bustling background of mistaken identity, ruthless scheming, and backstage theatrics, Will’s love for Viola quickly blossoms and inspires him to write his greatest masterpiece.
Shakespeare In Love is a big cast with room for seasoned and new thespians, (adults & teens), including William Shakespeare, Kit Marlowe, (& the men’s only theatre troop); Queen Elizabeth, court, musicians & a dog; Lady Viola, her father, rich suitor & her indomitable maid. Experience the world of Shakespeare in this play based on the beloved movie, which examines how, quite possibly, Shakespeare came to write his most famous play.
Open auditions begin tonight at 6:15 p.m. at 1st Street Studios located at 14 1st Street SE in downtown Paris.
