Pauline M. Salomon 88, of Paris, Texas went to her heavenly home Thursday, July 19, 2018.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 23, 2018, in the Chicota Baptist Church with Pastor Rocky Burrows officiating. Interment will follow in Long Cemetery, under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home, 730 Clarksville St. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 22, 2018, from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. in Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.
Ms. Salomon was born May 25, 1930, in Powderly, Texas to Charles and Annie (Wallace) Weaver. She graduated from Chicota High School. She married R. C. McElyea who preceded her in death. She married Albert Salomon on September 2, 1970, in Madill, Oklahoma who preceded her in death in 2007. She and Al owned and operated Denton Optical, in Denton, Texas for many years. In 1983, they moved to Arthur City, Texas. They owned and operated Chisholm Square Optical in Paris, Texas for several years before retiring.
Ms. Salomon was a member of Chicota Baptist. She was a wonderful Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a best friend to her children. Those who knew her loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, five brothers and one grandson.
She is survived by her five children; Jimmy McElyea and wife Cindy of Ovilla, Texas, Sandie North and husband Jack of Abilene, Texas, Sue Black and husband Bill of Irving, Texas, Billy McElyea, Richard McElyea and wife Jennifer; sister Barbara Keller of Chicota. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
