Patsy Jean Reno (née Cornwell), lovingly known as “Grammy” to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025, at Brentwood Terrace Healthcare and Rehab in Texas. She was 85 years old.
Born on March 30, 1940, in Oklahoma, Patsy lived a life rooted in compassion, resilience, and unwavering love. A mother not only in name but in spirit, she raised one biological child, adopted four, and lovingly fostered 52 children throughout her life. Her legacy of care lives on in her children: Carla Morgan, the late Danny Reno, the late Frank Reno, Sherri Lujan, and Jessica Reno, as well as in her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Patsy had a deep love for music and was an active member of her church choir, where her voice brought joy to many. She also had a gift for baking, which she shared for many years through her work in the Costco bakery. Patsy worked at Costco for 27 years, eventually becoming a cashier, and was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. She retired in 2017 and moved to Texas to be closer to her granddaughter Marisa Reno.
From 2020 onward, Marisa and Patsy shared a home in Paris, Texas. As Patsy’s health declined, she moved into a nursing facility, but thanks to Marisa’s steadfast devotion, she was never alone. Marisa remained by her side, offering love and comfort every step of the way.
Patsy was a wise and selfless woman who always put others first, offering help even when she had little herself. Her generous heart and nurturing spirit touched countless lives. Though not all of her family could be present in her final days, she was held and honored with deep love.
She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and enduring love. Patsy Jean Reno will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Marisa asks that you honor Patsy’s memory by offering kindness to someone in need, just as she so often did.
Cremation was under the care & direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home.
