Paris Regional Medical Center seeing changes all around!

With the first day of Spring upon us, The Paris Regional Medical Center has transitioned into a “new season” with a fresh look.

Over the past several months, the PRMC has been upgrading their facilities.

Upgrades include a new HVAC system (which provides individual patient room temperature control), new stylish bathrooms and fresh paint.

“Our new HVAC allows for established climate conditions conducive to medical functioning and patient healing,” said COO Scott Avery.

This renovation focuses around placing a new pipe system with electronic controls, resulting in the ability to control individual room temperatures.

The current system is being replaced due to being beyond its expected life. As it stands currently, the HVAC system was installed in the North Campus original construction in 1965.

This system only allows for control in specific zones and not individual rooms. Overall, the current HVAC system only distributes heat or cool air to an entire unit patient area.

With new technology and capital investment, the Paris Regional Executive Team placed this item on the top of their agenda to meet patient’s needs.

The new HVAC system is electronic and linked to the existing Building Automated System, providing an improved control for individualized patient needs. Each patient room provides the capability to control room temperature on a four-degree variation.

The project will continue to the remaining patient floors, with Labor and Delivery being one of the patient care areas in completion this week. During this time two hot water boilers, 117 fan coil units, six VAV boxes and one new air handler will be installed. Aesthetic improvements such as stylish bathroom renovations, fresh paint, and updated window seating will also be made to the units during the project.
