On Saturday evening, September 12, 2026, shortly after 8:00 p.m., officers with the Paris Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 2400 block of North Main Street. During the stop, officers made contact with the male driver and observed several indicators of possible intoxication.
The driver was asked to participate in standardized field sobriety testing. During the testing, officers observed additional signs consistent with intoxication. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Jail for processing.
During the booking process, a review of the driver’s criminal history revealed two prior convictions for Driving While Intoxicated. As a result, the charge was enhanced to Driving While Intoxicated, Third or More, a third-degree felony.
The suspect was booked into Jail without further incident.
Officers made 47 traffic stops, made 10 adult arrests, and answered 175 calls for service during this reporting period.
