Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the 600 block of E Sherman St at 8:29 A.M. on September 30, 2022. The 56 year old male victim reported that his 47 year old ex-girlfriend had struck him in the head with a lamp and attempted to cut him with a boxcutter during an argument. The investigation continues.
Paris Police stopped 28 year old Jacky Daniel McCool, of Paris, in the 1100 block of SE 12th St for riding a bicycle on the wrong side of the roadway at 4:15 A.M. on October 1, 2022. During the stop, McCool was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. McCool was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance of more than 1 gram but less than 4 grams. McCool was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to an assault and met the victim at PRMC ER at 10:38 A.M. on October 1, 2022. The 47 year old victim reported that he had been at his girlfriends residence in the 600 block of SW 7th St when a known Hispanic male arrived and became angry at him. The victim reported that the girlfriend may have been dating both men recently. The victim reported that the Hispanic male assaulted him with a metal pipe several times before leaving the scene. The incident is under investigation.
Paris Police responded to a burglary of a habitation in the 3500 block of NE Loop 286 at 10:29 P.M. on October 1, 2022. The victim, from Ft Worth, Texas, reported that someone entered their rented room while they were not there and stole several bottles of medication. The incident is under investigation.
Paris Police responded to a criminal trespass in the 1200 block of Cope Dr at 2:45 P.M. on October 2, 2022. Officers made contact with 31 year old Cam Aaron Preston, of Paris, and found that he had an outstanding warrant out of Galveston County, Texas charging him with assault of a family member with previous convictions. Preston was arrested and was found to be in possession of less than 1 gram of methamphetamine. Preston was later placed in the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded 224 calls for service and arrested 7 persons over the weekend ending at midnight on October 2, 2022.
