On Oct. 15 at 2:56 a.m., officers on routine patrol checked a suspicious vehicle in the Wade Park area and made contact with three individuals, one of whom was Quentence Omar Doolittle. Doolittle was found to be wanted from Red River County Texas on a warrant for Murder. He was arrested without incident and was booked and transported to Lamar County Jail.
On Oct. 14 at 10:50 a.m., the department was notified of a theft. A victim purchased three forklifts from a local business. The lifts were picked up by a private trucking contractor but have never been delivered to the victim, who is in Helotes Texas. The trucking company told the victim they can not locate the delivery vehicle or the forklifts. Case was referred to the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force.
On Oct. 14 at 4:57 p.m., officers recovered a stolen handgun in the 1500 block of Lamar Avenue. The reporting party advised that on the evening of 11/13/23 an individual had gotten into their vehicle and asked for a cigarette. The individual had made inappropriate comments to another person in the vehicle and was ordered to leave. Later the owner of the vehicle located a handgun in the back seat of the vehicle. The gun was reported stolen from Alabama. Officers contacted the suspect from the previous incident who denied ownership. The gun was placed into evidence and the investigation will continue.
