On Nov. 11 at 4:45 p.m., Officers stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation in the 1900 block of Pine Bluff and made contact with Davey Allen. A subsequent search of the vehicle located methamphetamine, which Allen claimed ownership of. Alle was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance. The vehicle was released to a passenger.
On Nov. 11 at 2:13 a.m., Officers stopped a vehicle in the 4100 block of Lamar Avenue after observing it swerving multiple times as it was driven on Loop 286. They made contact with the driver, Alvaro Cervantes. Officers could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage about Cervantes person, and observed an open bottle of beer in his console. Cervantes admitted to having been drinking and consented to performing field sobriety testing. He was found to be intoxicated. Cervantes was arrested and taken for a blood draw. He was then placed in jail. A history check revealed that Cervantes had at least 2 prior convictions for Driving While Intoxicated. He was charged with DWI 3rd or more.
On Nov. 11 at 10:04 a.m., Officers investigated a reported theft of vehicle in the 1800 block of Pine Bluff St. The caller reported that a 1992 Ford F150 had been stolen from the location. The vehicle reportedly was not operational and had been parked for about 2 years. The vehicle was entered as stolen and the NE Texas Auto Theft Task Force was notified.
On Nov. 12 at 7:17 a.m., Officers received a report of a burglary of a motor vehicle in the 3200 block of Clarksville St. Officers found that a victim’s unlocked vehicle had been entered and a wallet containing cash, cards, and identification had been taken. Further investigation of other suspicious activities during the day revealed that the suspects were juveniles and that they had taken other properties from the victim and other unrelated incidents. The juvenile suspects were identified and released to parents. Some of the property was recovered by Paris Police and NE Texas Auto Theft Task Force.
On Nov. 13 at 3:07 a.m., Officers responded to the 1000 block of Martin Luther King Drive in reference to a Burglary of Residence. The victim advised that he and his mother were moving out and that while they were gone someone had entered the house and had kicked in doors and stolen property to include a laptop computer, a sound system, purses and backpacks. A large flat screen tv had been moved but had not been taken out of the residence. Evidence was collected at the scene and the investigation will continue.
