Monday, March 6, 2023 at 8:07am: Paris Police Officer took a report of a 2022 black Carry On flat deck 18 foot trailer stolen from the 2400 block of North Main Street. The trailer was stolen on March 2, between 11:36pm and 11:49pm; but due to a malfunctioning alert system; the manager received a late notification. Surveillance footage show a four door, early to mid 2000’s, Chevrolet pickup truck, enter the parking lot, backed up, and hooked up to the trailer and leave. Only the driver side door is seen opening and only one individual, the driver, is seen getting out of and back into the truck. The trailer is valued at $4999.00.
Monday, March 6, 2023 at 10:20am: A victim told a Paris Police Officer that she had delayed reporting her Gray 2014 Ford passenger car as stolen on March 5th due to suspecting that it had been repossessed from the 3000 block of NE Loop 286. The victim’s banking institute confirmed that the vehicle was not repossessed. Auto Theft Task Force Officers were notified, as which time they advised that they were at a wrecking yard with a vehicle that Lamar County had recovered in Direct, Texas that had been set on fire. A VIN number located on the burnt frame confirmed the vehicle as the victim’s.
Monday, March 6, 2023 at 11:07am: Paris Police Officer responded to the 1700 block of East Houston Street; where a victim showed the officer drag marks across a wooden bedroom floor; where a Green Mosey Oak Gun Safe, containing an assortment of eight weapons and a box of Case knives; to include AR 15’s, all valuing over $6,000 had been stolen from the residence by known offender. The offender had also broken a window. A Burglary of a Habitation and a Criminal Mischief Report will be investigated.
Monday, March 6, 2023 at 11:44am: Paris Police Officer was dispatched to a Security Check call in the 1000 block of Hearon Street involving someone possibly trying to squat in an unoccupied-being remodeled house. Upon arrival, 35-year-old Rona Shae Avance of Paris was observed walking to the front of the residence from the back carrying a red plastic crate with a nativity scene inside, along with other items. The house owner wanted to file charges. During a bag search, 3 different prescription pills were located; for which Avance had no prescription for. Avance was taken into custody for Burglary of a Building – State Jail Felony and Possession of a Dangerous Drug-Class A Misdemeanor.
Monday, March 6, 2023 at 1:01pm: The Adult Probation Office notified Paris Dispatch that a subject was there with an active warrant. A Paris Police Officer responded to the 4300 block of Bonham Street and took 42-year-old Michael David York of Paris into custody for Motion to Revoke Probation-Possession Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1<1gram.
Monday, March 6, 2023 at 7:27pm: Paris Officer responded to the 1100 block of NE 28th Street to a security check involving a male in the street after falling out of his wheel chair. No one was located in the street. Officer proceeded to the address listed in the call notes and observed a male sitting on the floor. A female stated that everything was fine and shut the officer out of the door. As the officer was leaving; he heard the female yelling “I told you not to call the police!” Officer re-entered and observed the female’s shoe off and believed that she had hit the victim with her shoe; to which she admitted to hitting him on his legs. The suspect stated that she is his sister and his and his only caretaker. The suspect was instructed not the hit the victim again and the Adult Protective Services were notified.
