On Mar. 6, an officer stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of NE 13th for littering after he while following the vehicle noticed an occupant to throw a white paper bag out of the passenger window. The officer identified the occupants who all denied knowledge of the bag. Another officer arrived at the scene and the bag was recovered. It was found that the bag contained methamphetamine, packaged for resale. Officers arrested Susan Michelle Larkin (52), who had given a false name of “Tammy Rose”. Larkin admitted to having given a false name because she was wanted for a previous narcotics charge from another county. She was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance, Tampering with evidence, and Failure to Identify as a Fugitive from Justice. She was also arrested on the out of county charge.
On Mar. 6 at 10:20 p.m., Officers were notified of a theft in progress. Officers responded to the NE Loop and followed a suspect vehicle which had just stolen a trailer and welder from an address in the 3100 block of NE Loop 286. The vehicle was eventually stopped in the 3400 block of Tigertown Road. Marquis Deshawn Simpson (19) and Shawnee Donalan (17) were taken into custody and charged with Theft over 2500.00 but under 30,000.00. Both were arrested without incident booked and transported to Lamar County Jail.
On Mar. 6, Carla Sue Young (63) was arrested for an outstanding Parole warrant as well as for on view Theft of Property over 100.00 but under 750.00 after an officer worked a theft call in the 300 block of SW 9th. Young was found to be using a neighbor’s electricity without permission as well as being in possession of property that had been shipped to the victim’s residence. Young was booked without incident.
Officers made 17 traffic stops, 6 adult arrest, and answered 91 calls for service on for this reporting period.
