Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 9:57am: While a Paris Police Officer was making contact with a female subject in the 200 block of NW 27th Street regarding her being criminally trespassed from another location; she advised the Officer that her husband had just killed a cat in the 1900 block of Walker Street. She claimed that she witnessed her husband strike a cat with a broom over and over again. Contact was made with the alleged suspect, who denied the allegation. Officer later received another call and confirmed that a cat strongly fitting the description was alive and appearing un-injured was sitting on the house rooftop. A thorough investigation of Cruelty Non-Livestock Animal: Kill/Poison/Serious Bodily Injury will be made.
Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 2:10pm: 37-year-old Taryn Leigh Blalock of Paris was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance-Meth, Possession of Controlled Substance-Synthetic Marijuana K-2 and Possession of Marijuana Less than 2 ounces and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail after a traffic stop for a defective brake light violation in the 10 block of SW 11th Street, where a consensual search of the vehicle and a purse was made.
Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 8:41pm: Paris Police Detectives are investigating an Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon after Patrol Officers responded to Paris Regional Health Center and met with a 19-year-old victim that was being treated for a shotgun wound to her upper thigh area. The victim stated that she had heard yelling in her apartment complex in the 300 block of Stone Avenue and had stepped out in front of her doorway to see what was going on; then suddenly, she heard a gunshot and realized that she had been shot. The victim was treated and released from the hospital. No suspect has been identified.
