On Mar. 3, officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of Lamar Ave in regards to intoxicated persons at approximately 0154. Caller advised of a disturbance and of subjects coming into the business and causing a disturbance. Officers arrived on the scene and made contact with several subjects who were already detained by Reno Police Department. They found two subjects, Tracie Michelle Barnes (32) and Daniel Scott Villegas (29) to be in an intoxicated state. Villegas was also found to be in possession of Methamphetamine. Both were charged with Public Intoxication and Villegas was also charged with Possession of Controlled Substance.
On Mar. 3, an officer stopped a vehicle for expired registration in the 200 block of Lamar Avenue. The driver, Marcus Jamal Dickerson, (32) gave a false name and date of birth. After confirmation that the information was false, Dickerson was arrested for Fail to Identify, giving fictitious information.
On Mar. 3, a stalking complaint was investigated in the 10 block of the plaza. A complainant reported that an ex husband has been continually harassing and following her for several months and coming to her place of business and harassing her. Officers located multiple reports in the past year involving the suspect following and harassing the victim. A warrant for Stalking will be sought in the case.
On Mar. 3 at 2:41 a.m., officers received a report of a burglary of motor vehicle in the 3400 block of W. Houston. The victim was awakened by his dogs and looked outside his residence to spot a subject exiting his vehicle. The victim procured a weapon and then exited his residence to see the suspect(s) fleeing the scene in a dark colored SUV, possibly a Cadillac Escalade. The victim then discovered that a handgun and ammunition had been stolen from his vehicle. While on the scene, the reporting officer discovered some cash on the ground, which the victim denied as coming from his vehicle. The scene was processed for evidence and all evidence was collected. Investigation will continue.
On Mar. 3, officers received another call of Burglary of Vehicle in the 4100 block of Eastridge Dr. The victim discovered that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and stolen a Smith And Wesson handgun and ammunition. The door was left ajar, as in the previous reported call.
Officers made 39 traffic stops, 4 adult arrest, and answered 330 calls for service on for this reporting period.
