Monday, March 20, 2023 at 9:41am: Approximately 14 ounces of Marijuana was confiscated from a Traffic Stop in the 300 Block of NE 14th Street after the driver (not wearing a seat belt) was stopped for imprudent speeding and failing to give a signal of intent to turn. Officers made contact with Driver 33-Year-Old Clifton Dion Robinson of Paris and smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Probable Cause Search yielded the Marijuana, numerous baggies and 1 set of digital scales. Robinson was arrested and booked into the Paris Jail for Possession of Marijuana >4 ounces <= 5 pounds.
Monday, March 20, 2023 at 2:47pm: Paris Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a driver not wearing a safety belt in the 100 Block of Southeast 17th Street. The driver and the front passenger were identified. While speaking with the driver, Officer observed a partial marijuana cigarettes in plain view in the vehicle. Probable Cause Search located a black zipper case in between the front passenger seat and the center console; containing a white crystalline substance and multiple packages, all testing positive for methamphetamine. Front Passenger 52-Year-Old Kevin Lamont Hicks of Paris claimed ownership of the zipper case and contents and was taken into custody for Possession of Controlled Substance >=4 grams<200 grams.
Monday, March 20, 2023: The Paris Police Department responded to 65 Calls for Service and arrested 5 adult persons.
