Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 9:58am: Paris Police Officer met with a Construction Business Owner in the 1200 block of SE 12th Street at a duplex under construction site and took a Burglary of a Building Report. The owner was last at the site a couple of weeks ago and returned today to discover that the dishwasher and the kitchen sink for both units, waiting to be installed, were no longer there; resulting in a loss of over $1000.00. The owner suspects the suspect would have to be someone familiar with the building due to the keypad door locks.
Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 7:42am: Paris Police Dispatch received a call of a Burglary of a Residence in the 500 block of SE 17th Street. A description of a male and a female suspect was given. Homeless 37-year-old Heather Nicole Urquhart, fitting the description, was stopped in the area for walking on the wrong side of the roadway. Urquhart confessed that she and Homeless 47-year-old Aaron Lee Kitchens had indeed taken items from the residence. Both were charged with Burglary of a Habitation. Kitchens was located under a nearby residence with several stole items in his possession and was additionally charged with Criminal Trespass-B. Suspects had removed a water heater from the residence and had strapped it to a baby stroller.
Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 10:35am: Paris Police Community Service Officer spoke with a subject in the police lobby, who stated that back late December or early January, he met a female at a local restaurant claiming to be from Tennessee and visiting family here. Later, he received a check in the mail from VSE Aviation for $8100.00 out of Florida, that the female had texted him about. He deposited the check; spent some of the money and invested some in Exxon. His bank informed him that the check was fraudulent.
Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 2:25pm: Paris Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on a three occupant vehicle in the 1800 block of Lamar Avenue on an expired registration violation. Driver, 27-year-old Zachary Lee Cole of Paris was taken into custody and booked into the Paris Jail for a Lamar County Motion to Revoke Probation-Possession of a Controlled Substance Warrant. Other occupants were released and the vehicle was impounded.
Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 2:53pm: Paris Police Officer made a traffic stop in the 1000 block of North East 7th Street for a minor traffic violation. The driver identified himself as Grady Johnson. The passenger correctly identified the driver as 69-year-old Gregory Gene Mallory of Paris. Mallory was arrested and booked into the Paris Jail for an Outstanding Parole Warrant-Delivery Cocaine X3 Failure to Appear and On-View Fail to Identify Fugitive Intent Give False Information.
Thursday, March 2, 2023: The Paris Police Department responded to 59 Calls for Service and arrested 5 adult persons.
