On Mar. 13, Paris Patrol Officers and Detectives assisted officers of the Mineola Police Department in serving a search/arrest warrant in the 10 block of NW 24th Street. They arrested Charles Christopher Sikes (34) on the charge of Possession of Child Pornography with intent to Promote. Evidence was seized and Sikes was booked and taken to county jail.
On Mar. 13, an officer stopped a vehicle for a moving violation in the 2400 block of N. Main St. and contacted the driver, Kelly Ann Hanson (49). The odor of marijuana was detected within the vehicle. Hanson admitted to having used marijuana recently and informed the officer that she had marijuana in the vehicle. She provided the location of the marijuana. The officer checked the location and located marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Also located were vaping devices containing THC over the legal limit allowed in Texas. Hanson was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. A Felony. She was booked and taken to county jail.
On Mar. 14, Officers responded to a disturbance call in the 1000 block of W. Houston St. Upon arrival they observed a vehicle leaving the scene. The vehicle was stopped and officers contacted the driver, Cornelius Lamont Sims (46). Sims was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. He was also found to be wanted on a Motion to Revoke Probation for a separate DWI warrant out of Lamar County. Sims had an open container of alcoholic beverage inside the vehicle. A subsequent search located a handgun within the vehicle. Sims, a felon, is prohibited from possession of firearms. Sims was summarily charged with DWI 2nd, and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. He was booked and taken to county jail.
Officers made 81 traffic stops, 10 adult arrest, and answered 294 calls for service during this reporting period.
