Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 09:14am: A victim came to the Police Lobby (at the advice of his bank) and spoke with a Community Service Officer about a $450,000.00 Theft. The victim showed the Officer numerous documents and explained that he has been financially ruined in a Publishers Clearing House Scam, which has been going on since 2017. Over the years; he had sent payments in, in combinations of cash, money orders and prepaid Visa Vanilla gift cards. He also took out bank loans in order to have money to send to Publishers Clearing House to claim his prize money. A Theft Property >=$300K report was taken.
Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 11:45am: Paris Police Officer made a traffic stop in the 700 block of Lamar Avenue on a vehicle displaying expired registration. The three occupants were checked for warrants. Driver-36-Year-Old Brian Allen Nichols of Paris was wanted out of Red River County for Felony Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1. Front Passenger-21-Year-Old Courtney Rania Elrod of Paris was also wanted out of Red River County for Felony Interfer with Child Custody. Both subjects were taken into custody and booked into the Paris Jail. The third occupant received a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was released at the scene.
Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 1:32pm: Paris Dispatch dispatched Officers to the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue to a Shoplifting in progress. While Officers were enroute to the scene; a Detective located the suspect vehicle and occupants in the 3200 block of Pine Mill Road. Both suspects were in possession of stolen property and each gave the Detective false names to
evade outstanding warrants. 58-Year-Old Mary Ella Bailey of Paris was identified by the tattoo of “Mary” on the right side of her neck. Both Mary Bailey and 39-Year-Old- Ladetra Michelle Bailey of Paris were taken into custody for Theft Property <$2,500 with 2/More Previous Convictions and several additional warrants. The two had shoplifted over $100 in general merchandise and were criminally trespassed from the store.
Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 1:59pm: 50-Year-Old Alan Preston Malakowsky of Antlers Oklahoma was arrested in Oklahoma on a Paris Police Warrant- Theft Prop>=$2500<$30K (Felony); resulting from an investigation of a ‘2021 case; wherein Malakowsky had rented a Sky Jack Scissor Lift from a business in the 2400 block of FM 79 and has never returned it.
Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 2:52am: Two male subjects were riding bicycles with no white headlamp on the front of their bicycles and riding on the wrong side of the road; when a Paris Police Officer made contact with them in the 200 block of SW 5th Street. Both subjects were checked for warrants. 22-Year-Old Daniel Bryan Moody of Paris was wanted for an outstanding Lamar County Sheriff’s Office Warrant- Burglary of a Habitation Intend Other Felony. Moody released his bicycle to the other cyclist and was taken into custody and transported and booked into the Paris Jail.
