On June 14, Walter Ray Alexander (57) was arrested in the 1500 block of NE 17th Street. After officers responded to a disturbance at the residence. Alexander had destroyed numerous items in the residence and had urinated inside the kitchen of the residence on numerous items. Alexander had also intentionally urinated on a family member. Alexander was the aggressor in the incident. He was arrested for Indecent Assault. A Class A Misdemeanor.
On June 15, Officers responded to the 900 block of 3rd SE to a report of an attempted sexual assault. When officers arrived on scene they observed the suspect, Brian Joseph Holsopple (30). Holsopple was totally nude and was standing on a porch screaming profanities while touching himself in a indecent manner. He was taken into custody with minor difficulty. It was found that Holsopple had attempted to sexually assault a victim in the area who had been able to break free of him. Holsopple appeared to be under the influence of some type of narcotic. He was taken to PRMC hospital for clearance of injuries or overdose. While there he continued screaming profanities and exposing himself to hospital staff. He was charged with Indecent Exposure and Attempted Sexual Assault. He was taken directly to Lamar County Jail.
On June 15, an officer attempted serve a Parole Warrant on Odreakus Nacole Lewis (43) when he saw him in the 1500 block of Fitzhugh Avenue. Lewis first denied his identity and then fled on foot in an attempt to evade capture. He was caught and taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. He was charged with the Parole Warrant and Evading Arrest.
On June 16, Officers were notified of a disturbance in the 2300 block of W. Austin. The victim advised that an ex boyfriend, Resheed Rafael Money (31) had kicked in her front door and assaulted her by choking, kicking, and hitting her. Victim’s phone was damaged and Money had torn down an outside camera from the residence. Money was located in the area, but fled on foot and was later found hiding beneath a vehicle and taken into custody. He was charged with Burglary of Habitation, Assault by impeding breath of a Family Member, Criminal Mischief, and Evading Arrest.
On June 15, Officers were assisting the Paris Fire Department with a car fire in the 1300 block of NE 8th when a subject, Areginald Demond Sanders (44) drove his vehicle over a fire hose. When officers contacted Sanders, he was found to be intoxicated and drinking a beer. Sanders was arrested for DWI. He was found to have previous convictions and was charged with DWI 3rd or More, A Felony.
On June 16, Lawrence Ray Thompson (50) was arrested for an outstanding Parole Warrant in the 600 block of NW 28th. He was taken into custody without incident.
On June 14, Officers responded to the 1300 block of NW 19th Street in reference to a Robbery. A victim was approached at the Booker T. Washington Homes, abducted, and assaulted by a subject who then stole her wallet. Investigation is ongoing at this time.
On June 15, a report of an Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon was received from a victim in the 2100 block of E. Cherry St. The victim advised that the known suspect came to the residence and claimed that he owed him money. The suspect then attacked the victim from behind with a knife. The suspect had left the scene prior to officers arrival. The victim was taken to PRMC for treatment of stab wounds. The weapon was recovered at the scene and the incident is under investigation.
On June 16, Officers were notified of an assault which had occurred in the 300 block of SE 16th. An unknown white male had assaulted 2 victims with a cane. The victims were working on a vehicle when the suspect walked up and struck them several times with a walking stick (cane) as well as his fist. The suspect then left the scene. Investigation will continue.
Officers made 30 traffic stops, 12 adult arrest, and answered 325 calls for service for this reporting period.
