On Jan. 30, the department received a complainant in the 3800 block of Lamar of a Criminal Trespass. The responded and located Jonathan Shannon Howard (42) of Brookston, leaving the area. He was detained and a warrant check revealed that Howard was wanted on a warrant out of Lafayette Arkansas for the charge of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, a Felony. Howard was arrested and transported without incident.
On Jan. 30, an officer observed a subject known to him as Jaquavious Jashon Woods (22) of Paris, in the 600 block of Bonham St. Woods had an outstanding warrant for Felon in Possession of a Firearm a Felony. The warrant was a result of an investigation of a January 7, 2025 Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and Theft of Firearm which had originated with a Stolen Vehicle out of Oklahoma. Woods was arrested without incident. During the arrest, other evidence was recovered.
On Jan. 30, officers received notification of found property. A container full of copper wire was located in the roadway in the SE portion of the city. The caller advised that a subject was attempting to take the property away until she advised him the police had been called. The property, a sizeable amount of copper, was removed and transported to the Paris Police Department. Anyone owning the property may contact the department to identify and claim the property.
Officers made 11 traffic stops, 4 adult arrest, and answered 86 calls for service for this reporting period.
