Paris Police arrested Zachary Taylor Roth, 45, at his residence in the 400 block of W Shiloh St at 5:33 P.M. on January 17, 2023. Roth had an outstanding felony probation violation warrant out of Lamar County on a possession of a controlled substance conviction. Roth was booked and later placed in the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police spoke with a victim of a fraud by telephone at 8:49 P.M. on January 27, 2023. The victim reported that a known person came to their store in the 2700 block of E Price St and wrote a check for a purchase. The victim has since received a notification from the bank that the check was identified as fraudulent. The incident is under investigation.
Paris Police responded to a burglary of a vehicle at 9:45 A.M. on January 28, 2023 that had occurred in the 1100 block of NE 36th St. The victim reported that they believed that they had accidentally left their vehicle unlocked and found that someone had stolen a firearm from the vehicle sometime during the night. The incident is under investigation.
Paris Police responded to a shooting at 60 W Washington St at 2:42 P.M. on January 29, 2023. Officers located a 50 year old Hispanic male that had a gunshot wound to his face. The shooting appears to have happened in an empty apartment. The victim was transported to PRMC ER for treatment and was later transferred to a Dallas area hospital. The incident is under investigation.
Paris Police responded to 203 calls for service and arrested 10 persons over the weekend ending at midnight on January 29, 2023.
